Intro: Bhagalpur silk also known as ‘Wild Silk’ has a distinct, raw character of its own type. Completely handwoven in what is famously known as the ‘Silk City’ on the banks of the river Ganges in Bihar, Bhagalpur has been a centre of silk production for centuries. Wild silk comes in various shades of brown, beige and gold. The threads are shorter than those of mulberry silk and are hand spun rather than reeled.
